There was pandemonium on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday when members of the red chamber disagreed on the face-off between the Senate and the Presidency.
It was reported that Melaye had called on the Senators in attendance to fight the presidency to a standstill.
In his rant, he allegedly issued a wide variety of threats.
But when Senator Remi Tinubu, wife of APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, advised the Senate not to be reduced to a kindergarten where members could just issue childish threats, Melaye allegedly flared up and threatened to beat her up on the floor.
“I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen,” Melaye, who represents Kogi State in the Senate, was alleged to have said to Tinubu.
“The statement caused a commotion on the floor as Senators in her support gathered to protect her (Tinubu).
“Senate President, Bukola Saraki, nodded as Melaye called Mrs Tinubu unprintable names,” SaharaReporters reports.
Melaye had in the past been accused of pummelling his former wife.
