Police Assure Lagosians Peaceful Eid el-Fitr

Residents of Lagos State have been told to go about their lawful duties during the Eid el-Fitr celebrations on Wednesday and Thursday.

A statement issued by the Lagos States Police Command disclosed that “adequate and necessary security measures have been put in place during and after” the period.

“In furtherance to this, all Muslim Faithfulls and indeed the general public are hereby assured of their safety,” the statement said.

It added that “appropriate operational strategies have been devised to ensure a hitch-free Eid el-Fitri celebration at all praying grounds, recreational centres, hotels and all other public places.”

However, members of the public have been “implored to cooperate with the police as they go about their lawful duties.”
