PDP Belongs To Nigerians—Ali Modu Sheriff

The immediate Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff, has called on the Nigeria Police to allow him access into the party’s secretariat in Abuja.

Sheriff, who addressed newsmen at the Wadata Plaza of the PDP on Monday, also disclosed that the party belongs to Nigerians.

He rebuked the Nigeria Police for stopping him from taking over the party’s leadership on Monday, accusing the security agency of being bias.

Speaking to journalists outside the party’s premises, Sheriff maintained he is still the National Chairman of the party.

Sheriff claimed the court told the police IG, Solomon Arase, to provide him with police into the PDP secretariat, but that Arase disobeyed the order.

“Here is a court order stating we should go into the office. I am the National Chairman (of the PDP), here is the National Secretary and other principal officers of the party with all documents of this party.

“We would go back because we don’t some miscreants to take laws into their hands. We want to let Nigerians know that this party belongs to Nigerians, not the Nigeria Police,” Sheriff told newsmen.
