Some gunmen suspected to be militants have abducted younger sister to a member of the House of Representatives, Henry Ofongo.
The victim, Mrs Seighe Dike, was kidnapped on Thursday at Igbomotoru in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
It was learnt that the hoodlums stormed the area in two speedboats, carried out their act and sped off immediately.
They were said to have went straight to the victim’s house, beat her husband, before taking the woman away.
However, it is not certain if the kidnappers were members of the Niger Delta Avengers, but we gathered that the incident has unsettled family members of the victim, especially her brother, Ofongo, who is representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State at the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, police in the state have launched an investigation into the matter and efforts are being made to rescue the woman.
