PDP National Headquarters Re-Opens

Report reaching us confirms that the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja has been re-opened after it was sealed by the police some days ago.

It was gathered that the Wadata Plaza of the opposition party was re-opened on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Aproko247 recalls that the PDP National Secretariat was locked by the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday, May 22, 2016 to maintain law and order following the aftermath of the National Convention in Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Head of Publicity Division, Chinwe I. Nnorom, in Abuja, it was disclosed that Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Ojo Maduekwe, said the office is opened to Establishment staff of the Party only pending the peaceful resolution of the current leadership crisis soonest.

“The Secretary of the Board of Trustees is billed to address members of staff on Wednesday, the 1st of June, 2016 at the NEC Hall,” Nnorom said in the statement.

Meanwhile, the new National Caretaker Committee led by Ahmed Makarfi will hopefully assume office officially at the Secretariat of the Party on Wednesday, 1st of June, 2016.

“Members of staff, Party Members and our teaming supporters nationwide are advised to remain calm and continue to support the Party in its continued quest to move Nigeria and democracy forward,” the statement concludes.
