Abducted Army Colonel Found Dead

The senior military personnel kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday in Kaduna has been confirmed dead by authorities of the Nigerian Army.

On Sunday, March 27, 2016, some unidentified gunmen reportedly seized Colonel Samaila Inusa and his wife at gunpoint at Kamazo area in Kaduna.

His car was intercepted by the kidnappers and was driven away along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

He was a serving officer at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry Jaji in Kaduna State.

On Tuesday evening, the Army issued a statement confirming the death of Colonel Inusa.

In the statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, it was disclosed that the lifeless body of Colonel Inusa was discovered at about 6pm already decomposing.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna, Kaduna State,” the statement said.

“Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna,” the Army added, vowing to fish out “whoever is behind his abduction” and make him “face the full wrath of the law.”
