Saraki’s CCT Trial Adjourned Till March 18

The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has fixed next Friday, March 18, 2016, to hear argument of the motion on jurisdiction of the tribunal to try Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on a charge of alleged false asset declaration slammed on him by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, in September 2015.

Saraki was in court today, Friday, March 11, 2016 in company of about 30 Senators, including his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; Dino Melaye, Ben Murray-Bruce and Stella Oduah.

He arrived at the CCT at about 9:56 am and sat at the back of the dock, while his lawyers presented their arguments.

After much arguments, President of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar, asked the defence to ensure that he served all motions and processes on the prosecution counsel to avoid further delay of the trial.

He therefore adjourned the case to Friday, March 18, 2016, for moving of the motion and possible hearing of the substantive matter.
