Aggrieved PDP Chieftains Float New Party

Some top members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have formed a new political party. The new platform is called the Peoples Mega Party, PMP.

The new party was floated by fronts of aggrieved chieftains of the opposition party, who felt their former party failed to listen to them.

National Coordinator of the yet-to-be registered party, Perry Opara, told delegates at the National Executive Council/National retreat of the PMP that the mission of the new party is to provide a very focused and patriotic body deviod of negative traits of impunity and confusion.

He explained that, “The major people who are in the party are former members of the PDP who disenchanted by the high level of corruption, high level of impunity and high-handedness in the PDP.

“They have decided to form something very new and they are of the opinion that they should hand over the party to younger elements who are less corrupt and who can be able to fight for the interest of the people.”

He hinted that the new party is not only composed of members of the PDP, but also from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC; the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Labour Party.

Opara, who is a close ally of the former Presidential aide, Ali Ahmed Gulak, however declined to mention names of the PDP, APC, and APGA members floating the party. He said none of them has given permission to make such information open.
