Reports reaching us indicate that the 2016 budget proposal presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22, 2015, is nowhere to be found.

The document containing fiscal expenditure of the country for the year 2016 was declared missing during a closed door session on Tuesday that lasted about 90 minutes.

Members of the upper chamber of the National Assembly were supposed to deliberate on the N6.08 trillion budget today, but this could not hold because of its disappearance.

Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, was said to have announced that the budget document was no longer seen for scrutiny.

This is coming days after it was earlier rumoured that the Presidency was planning to recall the budget because of public outcry over some parts of the budget described as ridiculous.
