According to reports reaching us, military officers are in a gun battle with suspected terrorists at Inike axis in Okene local government area of Kogi State.
It was gathered that some members of the insurgents first opened fire at the soldiers after sighting the officers, who retaliated.
However, this magazine could not confirm the number of casualties as at the time of filing this report. Residents of the area are said to have scampered for safety.
Trouble reportedly started when at about 5am soldiers mobilized to the area to apprehend the terrorists following intelligence reports.
The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ovye Aya William, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the army embarked on a raid in the area.
