Former governor of Ekiti State and also a ministerial nominee of President Muhammadu Buhari, Kayode Fayemi, has finally debunked rumour that he acquired beds in the Government House in Ado-Ekiti for N50 million.

Shortly after handing over to the incumbent governor of the state, Ayo Fayose, in October 2014, Fayemi came under heavy criticisms over the alleged purchase of beds for himself and his wife at the Government House for the above amount.

But appearing before the Senate for screening on Tuesday, Fayemi said nothing of such ever happened.

Fayemi challenged anyone with proof to substantiate the claims to come forward with it.

Fayemi was responding to a question asked by Senator Olusola Adeyeye from Osun State.

Fayemi further said the structure was built because the where he stayed before erecting the Government House was a “two-bedroom apartment.”
