The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it would zone its presidency slot to the North, saying it has learnt from its past mistakes.
The party made this known on Wednesday in Abuja after it received a report from the PDP Post- Election Review Committee, which was headed by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
As part of its recommendations, the party was advised to give the northern part of the country the presidential slot in the 2019 general elections.
This, according to the report, would ease the frustrations of aggrieved quarters in the party, who were not happy with the distortion of an alleged existing zoning formula in the party by the emergence of former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 and 2015.
