Ambode Backs Ebola Film

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has stressed importance of the entertainment industry, especially the movie section, in positively shaping the society.

Ambode, while receiving a Hollywood actor, Danny Glover, who is in the country for a new film that chronicles the Ebola Virus Disease that struck Nigeria in 2014, 93 Days, promised to throw his full weight behind the project.

The governor further noted that the Lagos State government will explore the potentials that abound in the entertainment and arts industry as a viable platform to create jobs for the teeming youths in the state.

Ambode thanked Glover and other crew members of the flick, who were at his office in Alausa, Ikeja on Wednesday, for deciding to tell the Ebola story to the world.

“Our government will support this project. No story can be told better than in graphic form and once you are turning this story to a movie; it means that every other part of achievements that we can put together is going to be something historic,” he said.
