Former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, visited the Awolowo family house in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Jonathan arrived the sleepy town alongside his wife, Dame Patience, to pay his condolence to the family over the loss of HID Awolowo, wife of the late Obafemi Awolowo, who died earlier this week.

The former president described the death of the Awolowo matriarch as a great loss to the country. He said the 99-year-old woman lived an exemplary life.
