Army Destroys Boko Haram Smoked Fishes, Meats

Authorities of the Nigerian Army say they have burnt over 2000 cartons of smoked fishes and bags of dried meat seized from members of the terrorist group called Boko Haram.

A statement issued by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, who is also spokesman for the 7 Division Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Colonel Tukur Gusau, disclosed that the destroyed goods were worth about N50 million.

Gusau said with this development, the food supply to the insurgents has been tampered with and the end of Boko Haram getting closer.

The Army the destroyed smoked fishes and dried meat were confiscated from the group at various locations in Borno Sate. They were reportedly taken by the terrorists from traders in the state and used to finance insurgency in the north east Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Army has warned monarchs in the state to avoid using donkeys and camels as means of transportation for now. The Army explained that it has information that Boko Haram has planned to use these animals for transport.
