Former Lagos Inland Revenue Service, LIRS, boss, Babatunde Fowler, has been named by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, has disclosed.
Fowler resigned his appointment in Lagos some months ago.
He started his career in the banking sector for about 20 years. His giant strides at the LIRS received commendations from many people and he was before now tipped to take charge at the federal level of the tax body.
He will resume his new office in an acting capacity pending his confirmation by the Senate, which is presently on a recess.
