Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has thrown his weight behind the candidacy of House of Representatives member from Lagos State, Femi Gbajabiamila, for the position of Speaker of the House.
Gbajabiamila emerged the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the number four position in Nigeria.
Fani-Kayode, in a Facebook post on Sunday night, urged members of his party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Green Chamber to cast their votes for the APC candidate when the election into principal offices in the House takes place this week.
He also expressed happiness over the emergence of Gbabiamila as the consensus candidate of the APC for the highly exalted post.
“I am glad that my friend and brother Femi Gbajamilla has emerged as the APC consensus candidate for Speaker of the House of Reps. I urge the PDP House members to vote for him,” Fani-Kayode wrote.
