Yayi Commiserates With Lagos Fuel Tanker Accident Victims

Senator-elect for Lagos West Senatorial District, Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi, has expressed sadness over the Tuesday’s fire incident involving a petrol tanker that veered off the Iyana Ipaja bridge on Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway.

This was contained in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, and made available to our reporter.

The incident, which happened in the lawmaker’s constituent, destroyed several houses, vehicles, properties and a market in the area. Yayi also is the outgoing representative of Alimosho Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He described the accident as unfortunate, but expressed hope that the relevance agencies of government at state and federal level would do all in their power to ameliorate the huge losses suffered by the people as a result of this incident.

The former lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly further called on relevant regulatory agencies to come up with policies on the control and maintenance of articulated vehicles carrying explosive substances like petrol as most of the accidents relating to such vehicles could be traced to lack of maintenance as well as their hours of operation in densely populated areas like Alimosho.
