A top lawyer in Delta State has been killed by some unknown assassins. The deceased, Austin Icheghe, until his death, was the Ughelli Branch Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, in Delta State.
He was gruesomely murdered on Thursday night by some hoodlums suspected to be cult members.
According to what we gathered, Icheghe was shot dead at a close range by the hoodlums in the head region of his body. He was attacked in front of his house, just when he was returning from work on that fateful day.
The motive for his murder could not be confirmed by this magazine, but we gathered that after he was shot by the gunmen, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he could not finish the battle for survival.
Lately, there have several killings in Ughelli. Residents now live in fear as they do not know who the next victim might be.
Meanwhile, police in the state have swung into action and have begun an investigation into the murder.
