The Giant Strides Of Diamond Bank MD, Uzoma Dozie

The emergence of Uzoma Dozie as the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Diamond Bank, to state the obvious, was a surprise to many keen observers of the banking industry in Nigeria.

You may ask why, but with the huge achievements recorded by the former man at the helm of affairs, Alex Otti, not many people gave Dozie a chance to succeed or thought he would be able to lead the big financial institution. Some of them had concluded then that Dozie would plunge Diamond Bank into crisis.

Even, some supposed pundits had predited doom for the young bank executive, but at the moment, most of them have buried their heads in shame because not only has Dozie succeeded in his exalted position, he has also positioned Diamond Bank to a level that it is now a treat to the banks that were before now the ‘big boys’ of the banking industry.

Talk about the sterling innovations introduced by the bank, talk about the TVC the MD personally took part in recently to sell Diamond Bank’s mobile app, like most people who saw the commercial said, ‘that was very thoughtful of Diamond Bank’.

Do you also want to talk about how Dozie has made banking to be fun to Nigerians with the idea of opening an account with just an SMS? or about how Nigerians now perceive how banking should be because of Diamond Bank? or do want to talk about how the youths now connect with the bank and see it as theirs? or do you want to talk about other briliant innovative ideas Dozie has introduced?  

To say again that Diamond Bank is now the toast of Nigerians is stating the obvious and this is because Dozie has made the bank take quantum leaps since he assumed office as the bank’s boss.

And like many people asked if Dozie would be able to fit into the big shoes left behind by Otti, but with the ways things are going, his successor would surely be asked a tougher question. This is because Dozie is not even showing any sign of going to sleep because from we gathered, he has not even introduced some other brilliant ideas he has in his kitty for the bank. These ideas, as we learnt, would surely marvel the world and make many conclude that Diamond Bank breeds talents.
