Reports reaching us indicate that the Managing Director of National Mirror, Kafilat Ogbara, has resigned from her appointment.

The newspaper outfit has been in crisis for some months now.

A new MD has been appointed to replace Ogbara. He is Sunday Olajide, a former Editor of Saturday Tribune.

It was gathered that Ogbara and Publisher of National Mirror, Jimoh Ibrahim, have been at loggerheads over some issues regarding the running of the company.

One of the members of staff of National Mirror, who informed Aproko247 about the latest development, but begged not to be named, said Ogbara left National Mirror to work in the campaign team of President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Ogbara has left National Mirror,” we were informed. “She has joined the campaign organisation of Jonathan,” we were further told by the insider.

When asked what actually led to Ogbara’s resignation, we were told that Ogbara and Jimoh have not been having it good with each other.

“Jimoh accused Ogbara of using his paper to get favours from politicians, but the MD only used the available means to get money to run the company and keep it on the newsstand.

“But the Publisher is not seeing it that way. The company still owes its members of staff salaries,” our source narrated to us.

Ogbara was appointed MD of National Mirror less than one and half years ago. Her appointment was then greeted with controversy.
