PDP Reviews Primaries Timetable

The National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has changed dates for it primaries for elective posts ahead of the 2015 general elections in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, the ruling party noted that the changes were approved by the NWC as stipulated in the PDP 2012 constitution as amended.

“In exercise of its powers under Section 29 (2) (a) and (B-) of the Constitution of our Great Party (2012 as amended), the National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the review of timelines (Time-table) for the conduct of Congresses/Primaries preparatory to the 2015 General Elections,” Mustapha said.

According to the statement, the presidential nomination forms are expected to be returned on November 15, 2014, while the screening and appeals would hold on November 26.

Also, the National Convention of the party will take place from December 10-11.

Meanwhile, the party said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has been notified of the review.
