New Video: No Ceasefire Deal With FG–'Dead' Shekau

Leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, supposedly killed by both the Nigerian and Cameroonian security forces in ‘two’ different gun battles, has rubbished claims by the Nigerian Army that his group sealed a ceasefire deal with the Nigerian government.

In a new video released on Friday, the Boko Haram leader, in his usual style, insists he will continue to fight the Nigerian state. He described the purported mediator in the ceasefire deal, Danladi Adamu, as an impostor, saying the man has no link with his group, Boko Haram.

Shekau maintained that the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by the group have been married and have no hopes of returning to their respective families.

On October 17, 2014, the Federal Government announced that a ceasefire truce was sealed with the insurgents. However, despite the announcement, the group has continued to strike. Few days ago, about 30 women were abducted in Adamawa by suspected Boko Haram fighters.
