Ministerial Job: Real Reasons Jonathan Dumped Obi For Chidoka

Fresh information has emerged about the real reasons President Goodluck Jonathan decided to choose former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osita Chidoka, ahead of former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, for the ministerial slot given to Anambra State.

Authoritative sources at the presidency reliably informed us that this was politically motivated.

As one of the sources divulged to us, leaders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State were against the initial move to give the ministerial position to Obi, who is not a member of the ruling party at the federal level, PDP.

It was further disclosed to this magazine that the state party leaders felt it would be counterproductive to allow Obi get the slot, since he is a leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State.

It was said that the President was left with no other choice than to pick Chidoka, who does not belong to any political party but is from Anambra State, for the job.

He has since been sworn in as the Minister of Aviation, replacing Stella Oduah, who was removed over allegations of corruption.
