Oyinlola Is A Serial Traitor–Omisore

Former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who recently left the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been described by the governorship candidate of the PDP in the August 9, 2014 gubernatorial poll in Osun, Iyiola Omisore, as a “confirmed serial betrayer.”

Omisore, reacting to Oyinlola’s defection, alleged in a statement issued by his media aide, Diran Odeyemi, that Oyinlola implemented an agenda that resulted in the nullification of the 2011 governorship in a bid to stop him (Omisore) as well as betrayed Ebenezer Babatope, who had been endorsed to become the PDP national secretary.

He said, “The former Governor is a confirmed serial betrayer, a politician who had lost whatever little followers he had due to his inconsistency, political somersaults and unreliability in political alliances.”

However, the PDP governorship candidate disclosed that Oyinlola’s romance with APC will not stop him (Omisore) from emerging winner in the Saturday’s election.

“We want to put it on record that his defection has no impact on the electoral fortunes of the PDP in the Saturday election. If any, the exit has cleaned the PDP of the last dark spot which constitutes a moral burden on our shoulder. By defecting, PDP has become fully sanitized and poised for a new lease of life in the government to be formed after election,” Omisore disclosed.

He further revealed that while Oyinlola was making efforts to retain his position in PDP, he was already holding underground meetings with the opposition party.

According to him, “The politics leading to his exit as a National Secretary (of PDP) was also traceable to his double dealings. While he was pushing for court action to return to office, he was holding nocturnal meetings with the APC. While he was negotiating with the President, Oyinlola had directed his few supporters to defect to the APC. He is never a consistent political player.”
