Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, has been cleared of allegations of misconduct levelled against him by the State House of Assembly. A seven-man panel instituted to probe the allegations said Al-Mukura was not found guilty of the alleged offences.
The State Chief Judge, Suleiman Dikko, had inaugurated the panel, but on Monday, the lawmakers vowed not to appear before it.
However, on Tuesday, the House made a u-turn and sent a legal team led by Ocha Ulegede to represent it before the panel. The legal team informed the panel that it was breaching the Nigerian constitution, but this did not stop hearing.
