Reps PDP Caucus Approves Jonathan For Second Term

Members of the House of Representatives elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have given their support for President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election in 2015.

The lawmakers, at a meeting held on Monday night with Jonathan at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, endorsed his candidature for the presidential election in 2015. Though the President is yet to officially declare his intention to seek a re-election, however, there are suggestions that he would contest at the polls next year.

Shortly after the meeting, Leader of the House, Mulikat Akande, who spoke with newsmen, noted that the lawmakers approved Jonathan’s re-election bid because of his landmark achievements.

Already, there have been advertorials running in the media highlighting the achievements of President Jonathan.

One of such is the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, which draw parallels with Barack Obama, late Nelson Mandela and Lee Kuan Yew on how they transformed their countries, concluding that Jonathan is carrying out a similar transformation in Nigeria.
