Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has finally been impeached by the State House of Assembly. The impeachment process was completed on Tuesday afternoon by the state lawmakers.
Aproko247 confirmed that 18 out of 25 members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly signed to impeach the embattled governor.
Nyako was sacked from office after the lawmakers examined the report of an investigative panel that probed allegations of financial misconducts against the governor and his deputy, James Ngilari, who earlier had resigned from office on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, due to this development, the House of Assembly has declared the Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, as the acting governor of the state. He is expected to be sworn-in soon.
