Members of the National Conference holding in Abuja have recommended life imprisonment for any government official found guilty of stealing funds meant for pensioners.
At Thursday’s plenary, the delegates also proposed a 50-year-imprisonment for any judicial officer found guilty of corruption or abuse of office and also recommended that such judicial officer should be stripped of all official entitlements.
The members unanimously reached these decisions at the Conference on Thursday.
Delegates frowned at the way some government officials embezzle monies set aside to reward those who have meritoriously served their fatherland, thereby making them undergo undue hardship due to their (government officials) greedness.
