Presently, there is pandemonium in Chibok community in Borno State over a threatening letter sent to the town by the Boko Haram Islamic sect.

The group hinted that it would storm the town again just as it did when over 200 students of Government Girls Secondary School were seized on April 15, 2014 under the nose of the military.

The terrorist group, in a letter it purportedly wrote, noted that the town will be attacked very soon. This has now caused panic as residents now live in fear.

“Whenever Boko Haram tells you that they are coming, they never fail to come. Our fear now is that we don’t know when and how they are going to come, but our people are living in terror. We are calling for prayers as well as the government to provide adequate security in Chibok,” the official said on Monday.

He further stated that, “everyone knows that this sect cannot be warded off by a pocket of security men and that perhaps informed why they sent a letter to us to expect them.”

The abducted schoolgirls are still being held captive by the group.
