Lagos Speaker Intensifies 2015 Guber Ambition

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, is gradually putting finishing touches to his plan to rule the state come May 19, 2015, when the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola must have finally expired.

Over the weekend, the Speaker held a meeting with members of staff of the Assembly, where he informed them of his intention to seek the nomination of his party, All Progressives Congress, APC, for the election of governor of Lagos State in 2015.

A source at the meeting told Aproko247 that Ikuforiji explained to the gathering that he was aiming the number one citizen spot of the state because he plans to take Lagos State to a greater and enviable height.

According to our source, “the Speaker told us that he has received the go ahead from God to contest the Lagos governorship election in 2015. He also informed us that several stakeholders in the state have been consulted and he now has their blessings to go ahead.”

The source further told Aproko247 that the Speaker promised to formally declare his gubernatorial ambition at the right time.

Ikuforiji’s Lagos East Senatorial District, according to a pronouncement by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will produce the next governor of the state.
