Dora Akunyili Dies In India

Nigeria’s former Minister of Information, Professor Dora Akunyili, has passed on. The renowned Pharmacist breathed her last in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, 2014.

Dora, also a former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, died in an India hospital where she has been
receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment for some weeks. She was aged 59.

Before now, she had been reported dead two times. Her appearance at the ongoing National Conference few days after it kicked-off, sparked public sympathy, but the woman disclosed that she was fit for the Conference. However, weeks later, she was flown to India for treatment.
