Unarguably Africa’s biggest reality show on television, the Big Brother Africa (BBA) is making a return in 2014 and this is raising adrenaline among the excited fans of the programme. The BBA is known for its drama, suspense and surprises, which have made it one of the widely watched television programme in the continent.

For the duration of three months, which the TV competition holds, viewers stay glued to their television set to catch the exciting moments of the show.

From Sunday, September 7, 2014, Africa will standstill as the BBA begins in style.

Since the first season, the reality series has attracted some funny, dramatic, weird and wonderful characters. Some housemates, who have been part of this huge show have had their talents realized and have gone on to grace TV screens; featured in newspapers and have their profiles trending on every social media site, blog and website.

For the 2014 edition, entry will be opened to the same 14 countries with the exception of Angola, which will be replaced by newcomers, Rwanda.

Other countries to join Rwanda are Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Entries are only opened to persons above the age of 21, who are citizens of one of the participating countries and must have a valid international passport. Intending housemates must also be entertaining and passionate about the Big Brother experience; and they have to be fluent in English.

Audition dates will be finalised in June and more information on BBA 9 will be made available in the next few months.
