12 Soldiers, 11 Policemen Killed In Fresh Boko Haram Attack

Suspected members of Boko Haram Islamic sect invaded a security base in Yobe State on Tuesday evening, killing no fewer than 23 security operatives.

It was gathered that the insurgents stormed the base in Buni Yadi, headquarters of Gujba local government area of Yobe State, headed straight to their target and killed some of the combined security forces they met at the security base.

They reportedly invaded the area in about 10 Hilux vehicles, many motorcycles and an armoured tank. They were also said to have damaged some buildings in the area during the attack.

Members of Boko Haram have continued to aggressively carried out attacks in the north despite the state of emergency imposed on there states in the region by the Federal Government since May 2013.

The group wants strict Islamic doctrines installed in the north, terming Western education as ‘forbidden’, from where it derives its name, ‘Boko Haram’ (Western education is forbidden).
