Presidential Convoy Shoots Protesting OAU Students

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State, were shot at on Thursday by a Presidential convoy. The students were protesting a recent hike in their tuition fee by the school management.

The school fee, as Aproko247 learnt, was increased from about N17,000 to over N100,000.

The convoy, led by a Toyota bullet proof SUV with the inscription ‘Presidency’ and with the registration number, FG902-B02, was attempting to drive through the students, but was reportedly resisted. Probably in an effort to scare the demonstrators, security officials attached to the convoy allegedly shot in the air.
