Jonathan Holds Another Meeting With Service Chiefs

On Monday, President Goodluck Jonathan held another closed-door meeting with the Nation’s Service Chiefs. The gathering was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. This is coming barely 48 hours after Jonathan returned from Paris, France, for a security summit with some African leaders.

Earlier in the month, the President held a similar meeting with the security chiefs in Aso Rock, following a blast that occurred in Nyanya Bus Station in Abuja for a second time in three weeks.

Though details of Monday’s meeting was not disclosed to journalists, it was, however, learnt that issues bothering on the kidnap of the over 200 schoolgirls in Borno State on April 15, topped the agenda. From what Aproko247 reliably gathered, the President also discussed his visit to France with the Service Chiefs, brainstorming on how to tackle terrorism in the country as well as rescue the abducted girls alive.

Those at the meeting on Monday include Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh; Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ademola Amosu;

Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar; and Director-General of State Security Service, SSS, Ita Ekpeyong.
