Paramount ruler of Rumueme kingdom, His Highness, Nyeweli Omunakwe Nsirim, has been urged to call Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to order. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state made the passionate appeal to the monarch on allegation that the governor was using the state resources to pursue his personal agenda.
Speaking on Wednesday at the palace of the traditional ruler, the state chairman of the party, Felix Obuah, accused Amaechi of funding the opposition to achieve a selfish interest. He begged the monarch to support Jonathan’s presidency in 2015.
Obuah led the party’s executive on a courtesy to Nsirim, lamenting that Amaechi has not developed the state despite being massively supported by the people of the state.
“We want you to plead with the governor to use our resources to develop the 23 local government areas of the state for people of Rivers State to have a sense of belonging,” Obuah told the traditional leader.
In his remarks, Nsirim assured the delegates that his kingdom would give 100 per cent support to President Jonathan and the PDP in 2015.
