Soldiers Already In Sambisa Forest–FG

Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mike Omeri, has disclosed that the Federal Government will not negotiate with the Boko Haram sect for the release of the missing schoolgirls.

He also disclosed that men of the Nigerian Army are already closing in on Sambisa Forest, where the missing girls are believed to be held hostage by the terrorists. “Soldiers are already rounding up the Sambisa Forest now, where the girls are allegedly kept [by the terrorists],” Omeri said on Thursday.

Omeri, speaking with CNN on Thursday evening in Abuja, said that the government will only dialogue with the violent Islamic group, but not negotiate with the terrorists in securing the release of the over 200 abducted students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

The top government official stated that, “I can assure you that the Nigerian government will not negotiate with the (Boko Haram) group, but we won’t rule out dialogue with them just to rescue these girls,” Omeri told the reputable American media.

The girls were kidnapped exactly a month ago in their dormitory by the sect. The government was late in pushing for their release until the international community became interested in the matter.
