City Crowned BPL Champs

Manchester City finished the Barclays Premier League table with 86 points, two ahead of second-placed Liverpool. The blue side of Manchester secured their second league titled in three years with a 2-0 win over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool came from a goal down at Anfield to beat nine-man Newcastle United two goals to one.

The new champions of England relied on goals from Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany to clinch the league.

In 2012, City also waited till the last game of season to grab the title. Two injury time goals ensured that the league title did not go to the red side of Manchester in 2012.

Chelsea finished third with a win over relegated Cardiff City. The match ended 2-1 at Cardiff. Arsenal ensured that Everton did not get the final Champions League spot as it beat Norwich City on the road. Tottenham crushed Manchester United’s hopes of playing in Europe next season with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa in London. Man Utd played a 1-1 draw at Southampton.

Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff will not be playing at the elite league next season as they were all relegated to the Championship.
