President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Thursday promised to bring an end to terrorism in Nigeria despite the enormous challenges being faced his government in fighting the menace.

Jonathan, while speaking at the ongoing World Economic Forum on Africa, WEFA, in Abuja, thanked the United States of America, United Kingdom, France and China in offering assistance in waging war against terrorism in Nigeria, especially with their offer to help rescue the abducted schoolgirls by Boko Haram members three weeks ago.

The President also hailed participants at the forum for attending the event, noting that if they had not agreed to come, despite the security challenges in the country, the terrorists would have been jubilant.

“Your coming here to show support to us is a major blow to terrorists and we will conquer them by God’s grace,” Jonathan said. He added that, “I believe the abduction of the girls (in Chibok, Borno State) will be the beginning and end of terrorism in Nigeria.”
