Corona School In Job Fraud Mess, Demands N10k From Applicants

According to a report by a reputable Lagos-based soft-sell magazine, Global Excellence, one of the most popular schools in Nigeria, Corona International School, is very much in the news with recent revelation that the highly revered institution of learning is exploiting poor job seekers who had applied for different jobs in the establishment.

The school, with many branches across Lagos, especially at both secondary and primary levels, also boasts of a Teachers Training College and has been one of the most reputable school over the years.

Lots of people were amazed and condemned in totality when it was learnt that the  institution, weeks ago asked job seekers to cough out N10,000 per candidate as a precondition for being allowed to partake in the schools’ job-seekers aptitude test.

A source very close to the school authority disclosed that, the management of the school never intended to seek for money from applicants at the initial stage, but the decision was reached when it was learnt that the number of applicants had tripled what they expected, thus, the management opted for a way to reduce the number of those that would eventually write the aptitude test.

We gathered that the aptitude test was delayed by a day in order to reduce the number of applicants that would pay the money and at the end there would be a reduction in those writing the exam. The management  gave out their account details and insisted on applicants coming to the test venue with bank deposit slips to prove the payment.

The SMS sent out reads thus “You are invited to take the Corona aptitude test on Sat 22nd March at Corona School, Gbagada 9.30am prompt. You are required to pay a processing fee of N10,000 to the acct details. Stanbic IBTC, Bank Acct No. 0003415088, Acct Name CORONA TEACHERS COLLEGE. Please come with your teller as evidence.”
