Poly Students Stage Protest In Abuja, Block Wike

Some aggrieved students of polytechnics in Nigeria staged a demonstration in the nation’s capital, Abuja on Monday afternoon to kick against their continued stay at home, following the strike embarked upon by their teachers since mid-2013.

The students also prevented the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike from entering his office. They stormed the ministry of education premises in Abuja to make known their displeasure over the matter.

Placards conveying various messages were displayed by the demonstrators on Monday afternoon.

Men of the Nigeria Police were on ground to ensure that the protest remained peaceful.
