Mbu Still In-Charge Of Rivers–Police

The Rivers State Police Command spokesman, Almad Muhammed, has said that the embattled Commissioner of Police in the state, Mbu Joseph Mbu, has not been removed as widely speculated in some quarters of the Nigerian media.

Muhammed noted that Mbu is still in charge of the police in Rivers State, contrary to several reports.

The police image-maker in the state disclosed this on Monday while reacting to rumour that the police authorities have sacked Mbu. He added that he was not aware of such move by the police.

Mbu has been having a running battle with the state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who has publicly lambasted him for being partisan. Mbu is being rumoured to leave Rivers State by the end of this week.
