Ajimobi Vows To Break Oyo Second Term Jinx

Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has promised to break the jinx of second term in the state. For a long time, no governor has served the state more than once.

Ajimobi, while addressing some motor dealers in the state, boasted that his performance in office would end the myth in the state.

He noted that the myth had been stretched beyond its relevance as the idea of a performing governor was not factored into it.

According to the governor, the notion is mainly for the Ibadan people, who believe that no governor can serve them twice, saying that since he’s not serving the Ibadan people only, but the people of Oyo State in general, the myth does not apply to him.

In his words, “we are serving the people, not the people serving us. The notion that no governor had ever served twice in Oyo State is wrong because the late sages Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Ladoke Akintola ruled the state twice.

“You can see that no government has ever done what we are doing in Oyo State now. I am ready to serve the people as long as the constitution permits.”
