Gunmen Attack Jonathan's Photographer In Abuja

The official photographer of President Goodluck Jonathan, Callistus Ewelike, has been shot by some unknown gunmen in Abuja. Ewelike was attacked in front of his house in Nyanya, an Abuja suburb, on Monday night.

He was about getting down from his car when one of the two gunmen, who came on a motorcycle, shot him in the neck at close range.

Ewelike had just returned from a function in Shape area of FCT, where President Jonathan reportedly performed an official duty.

The assailants reportedly sped off the scene afterwards when the gunshot attracted residents of the area. Their victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbours, but was later transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja.

Meanwhile, the police in FCT have launched a full scale investigation into the incident.

Ewelike also works with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
