Osun PDP Disowns Oyinlola, Throws Weight Behind Tukur

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has disowned the former governor of the state, who doubles as the factional PDP National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

In a communique released on Monday after the chapter held an emergency meeting to deliberate on the walk out of some party’s delegates on Saturday in Abuja, the state chapter of the PDP declared that Oyinlola was acting on his own, stressing that his action does not represent that of Osun State PDP.

According to the chairman of PDP in Osun State, Gani Olaoluwa, the party is solidly behind the leadership of Bamanga Tukur and pledged their support for President Jonathan. The party in Osun State assured that the PDP would win the gubernatorial election in 2014 as well as deliver the state to the party in 2015.

Those present at the meeting, according to the communiqué, were Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun (member of BOT), Erelu Olusola Obada (Minister of Defence), Olu Alabi, Engr Jide Adeniji, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Chief Abiola Ogundokun and Chief Francis Fadahunsi, among others.
