FG Declares Public Holiday For Eid al-Fitr

Tuesday, July 5, 2016 and Wednesday, July 6, 2016, have been declared as work-free days by the Federal Government to mark the celebration of the end of Ramadan fast, Eid-el Fitri.

A statement signed on Thursday by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, urged all Muslim faithful to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which are love, peace and justice, to the development of the nation.

In the statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Bassey Akpanyung, Dambazau further urged Nigerians to use the opportunity of celebration to “reflect on the imperative of unity and peaceful co-existence in strengthening the bond of togetherness for a strong, virile nation”.
