President Muhammadu Buhari has shelved his much-publicised trip to Ogoni land for the anticipated flag off of the cleanup exercise.
Reports say the President decided to cancel the trip based on intelligence information.
The Niger Delta Avengers had warned the President to travel for the function to Ogoni land at his own risk.
The group had threatened to assassinate the President if he stepped on the land.
However, the exercise would go on despite the President’s absence.
