Orubebe Denies Quitting PDP

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, on Tuesday, denied media reports that he has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

On Tuesday morning, reports went viral that Orubebe had announced his defection from the ruling party, which will assume a position of the opposition from May 29, 2015. The reports were based on a message purportedly posted on Orubebe’s Twitter account.

Though Aproko247 contacted the former Minister via a text message for a confirmation, he however later reacted to the story claiming his Twitter account was hacked.

The purported post by Orubebe read, “I have concluded plans to join my folks in the APC to champion and sustain the movement for a better Niger Delta in the new administration.
