Shortly after former governor of Delta State, James Onanefe Ibori was released from a London prison, where he served his term for corruption, he was re-arrested by authorities in the United Kingdom.
It was gathered that Ibori became a free man on January 22, 2016, but was again arrested.
He was said to have been apprehended again for an offence bordering on the confiscation of his ill-gotten assets, estimated to be in the region of £250 million and the matter is billed to come up in June this year.
It is however not clear where the former governor is being held.
Some of his loyalists were already preparing a grand return for him in Nigeria, but this latest development may have dealt a big blow on such plans.
